Leagues

The following leagues are available at North Halton.   Please click on each box to view more details.

The Monday Night Open League is a team entry league with a competitive league. We balance fun and community with the structured play and competition of a more formal league. All skill and experience levels are welcome. League etiquette expects patience from experienced players, and a willingness to learn from newer players.

Games are held primarily on Monday evenings. If overflow games are needed due to scheduling conflicts or an abundance of teams, those games will be played on Saturday afternoons, or whenever teams can schedule their games at their convenience.

On Mondays, early draws start at 6:30P.M. and late draws start at 9:00P.M. All teams will play a Round-Robin format throughout the year. Playoffs will be held amongst the Monday Night Open League teams after the Round-Robin format.

Each registered curler on a Monday Night Open League will contribute to the prize fund ($20 per curler). The funds will go towards prizes for the end of the season.

Enter a team of four or five curlers, and compete, have fun, and appreciate the sport of curling in this great league. This league is open to anyone ages 8-12 for little rocks and 12-16 for jr regardless of skill level. The league incorporates a teaching element as well as game experience with volunteer coaches. This is a very good starter league and allows kids to learn at their own pace.

Each week we start with some warm-ups off ice and then head out to the ice  On the ice, time is generally split between lesson and game.  For the lesson we have instruction each week where fundamental skills of the game are taught and kids have the opportunity to practice and develop these skills.  We also provide corrective measures when we see errors.  Then we split up into different teams each week to get some gameplay going and the kids have an opportunity to play an end or two of a game (depending on how much time is left and how quickly they can play).  At the start of the season there is more time spent on instruction than gameplay as we need to develop some of the skills first that are required to play a game.  As the season progresses there is a more even 50/50 split and then for the last couple weeks, time is more focused on gameplay.  The season will wrap up early March.

CSA approved helmets are required for participants under the age of 12.  For more information please see our Helmet Policy.

This is the newest league to North Halton, the Wednesday morning stick league is not just for stick players, but it is for everybody including new curlers. You will be placed on a two-person team. Each game lasts roughly 75 minutes, 6 rocks per team per end and 6 ends of curling and no sweeping between the hoglines!

Come on out and try this fast-growing style of curling!
